We are happy to collaborate with Toto Funds the Arts (TFA) in the 20th year and present FLASHBACK - a Festival of Short Films. FLASHBACK will feature the works of previous TFA applicants and winners and the screenings will be followed by conversations.
As part of the festival, TFA is offering a workshop on Writing About Movies with National Award-winning film critic Tanul Thakur on November 18 and 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
The workshop fee is INR 1000 and you can register for the workshop.
How does one approach film analysis? What are the tools and techniques which can aid in reading a film? How does one translate their thoughts about a film(s) into writing? What are the different forms of writing about movies?
In this workshop, Tanul Thakur will guide the participants to find answers to these questions and more.
You can also join a Masterclass on Editing with Tanushree Das titled Sculpting a Film on November 18, 2023 from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
TFA is a non-profit trust set up in September 2004 in memory of Angirus ‘Toto’ Vellani. It nurtures and recognises young artists in India through awards, workshops, conversations, readings, screenings, concerts and other events. TFA was set up by Toto’s parents and a few of his close friends who felt that the best way to remember him would be to support what he loved most—music, literature and cinema—in particular the desires and aspirations of young people beginning a life in the arts. TFA embodies the passion and energy with which Toto participated in the arts, inspiring others of his generation to discover their own voices. This edition of TFA is supported by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore.
