ABOUT THE FEATURED POET:

Alokparna Das is a poet, writer, and educator. Over the years, she has traveled to and lived in different countries. She has spent time teaching linguistics and literature and dabbled in journalism, advertising, and scriptwriting. But, her favorite so far has been writing stories for children to teach reading through storytelling. Alokparna likes to play with words, and poetry continues to be her lifelong love. 'Will the Center Hold?' is an exploration of all that is laughable in both the mundane and the exalted. The poet has jotted down these lines while stumbling through life. These poems question not only the individual and the collective self but the very gods above. With such a fine line between our virtues and vices, with such disparate moments in our lives, how do we not fall apart? Starting from both ends, the poems ultimately lead you to that core question in everyone's mind -- Will the Center Hold?
