Over the last 14+ years “Tuesdays with the Bard @ Urban Solace” poets have wrung tears of joy, nods of recognition, fleeting smiles, happy applause, wistful memories ... and several unforgettable poems. ABOUT THE FEATURED POET: TARUN CHAKRABORTY Tarun comes from the small town of Jamshedpur that is deeply steeped in tradition and old world expectations. Growing up studying in this privileged community, he was exposed and confronted by this small town mindset and the world at large. As a result of this constant evaluation, Tarun ran away from home to re locate to the call of the big city and he moved to Pune to follow his calling at the young age of 16. The challenge of living alone as a young man confronted by his inner voice and the external challenges of life he grew tired of being an argument to anyone who tried to put him in his place and a disappointment to everyone else. During this journey of learning, Tarun found his centering in the flow of his poetry that is reflected in his spoken word style of self expression, his poetry reflects the struggles that everyone experiences when they refuse to conform to social structures and rigid mind set constraints. Today, Tarun is a professional story teller helping ordinations and corporate organizations craft inspiring and powerful brand stories.
