Join Gopichand Katragadda in a exploration of the ancient Indus script, where innovative cross-disciplinary approaches offer new insights into the language, script, economic and cultural aspects of one of the earliest civilizations. Katragadda’s unique approach of using the longest Indus script on a seal as a trade glossary is a significant departure from previous attempts to decipher the script. This method could provide unprecedented insights into the economic and commercial practices of the Indus Valley Civilization. In line with a few other scholars, by interpreting the Indus script as a trade record, Katragadda’s work could shed light on the intricate economic systems of one of the oldest civilisations. This approach unravels the script and deepens our understanding of ancient trade networks and economic practices.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
