Event Description

With the advent of the Indian summer and globally rising heat levels, it is critical for us to develop a deeper understanding of urban heat not only as a systemic issue but as a lived experience. Through this workshop, we will introduce the different aspects of urban heat through a series of activities. By discussing how heat can affect social life, health, livelihoods, and community well-being, we aim to bridge the data gap. With an understanding of issues rooted in reality, we will try to push the bounds of our imagination and creativity. The aim is not to solve the problem but recognise issues and think creatively and empathetically. Urban Heat Lab is a half day workshop that uses art-based activities and material mediums to decode and solve for heat stress impacts on the community.
