Event Description

Urja explores energy through the masculine body and the classical language of Kathak. The work moves through three expressions of devotion - Shaiva, Shakta and Madhurya Bhakti - exploring strength, intensity, grace, tenderness and surrender. Through rhythm, movement and Abhinaya, these contrasting energies gradually come together, revealing that the masculine and feminine are not opposites, but two expressions of the same force. Urja is the union of these energies a state where strength meets grace, and devotion becomes movement.

About the Artist

Pramod Wagh

Pramod is a Pune-based Kathak dancer with a strong foundation in both science and the performing arts. After completing my SSC and HSC in the science stream, he pursued a B.A. and M.A. in Kathak, transforming his passion into a profession. With over a decade of rigorous training under Guru Shama Bhate, Pramod Wahg has developed as both a soloist and a group performer. Driven by curiosity, he continuously explore new concepts, striving to express original ideas and meaningful perspectives through his dance.
