Every voice matters, even more so the ones that are often unheard.

Unfolding in a world nearing its end, this play follows duck-header and clown, Vaaththukkaaran, as he delivers the last letters of humanity. Brought to him by a woman in a broken coracle, letters carry voices silenced by war, migration, caste, protest, and loss.

Drawing on the director’s experiences, the work challenges long-standing hierarchies in theatre, where power roles are reserved for dominant groups while clowns are reduced to caricatures. Here, the clown is reimagined as perceptive and reflective, reclaiming dignity and voice. Echoing B. R. Ambedkar, the performance questions belonging, identity, and exclusion.

Naren
Direction, Script, Design & Music
Naren is a theatre artist, director, and Parai artist based in Bengaluru. Growing up among Parai artists, he performed across Tamil Nadu and trained at a folk and tribal research centre in Nagercoil. He has worked across theatre productions as an actor and music composer, and teaches performance with a focus on social engagement, including developing the curriculum Sonic Lineage as interim faculty at Srishti Manipal. He founded ADAVI Arts Collective, an anti-caste initiative bridging Parai-centered folk practices with contemporary artistic expression.

Sindhu
Actor
Sindhu is a transwoman and debut theatre actor from Bengaluru committed to challenging the stigma that limits transwomen to marginalised roles. Through her work, she seeks to break stereotypes confining trans identities to narratives of begging and exclusion, asserting instead their place in spaces of art, expression, and dignity. Her performance marks a step toward reclaiming visibility and creating empowering narratives for the trans community.

Veeramani
Actor
Veeramani is a Parai artist with over two decades of experience, having begun at age six growing up among Parai practitioners. Based in Nerupur, Dharmapuri, he is also skilled in instrument making and sings oppari, carrying forward folk traditions. A senior artist with ADAVI Arts Collective, he plays a key role in teaching and choreographing performances. In 2025, he made his theatre debut in Nannajja, and has performed across India.

Arputhan
Actor
Arputhan is an aspiring filmmaker from Erode driven to tell stories rooted in everyday life and lived experiences. He is also a folk and gaana singer, and a full-time Parai artist with ADAVI Arts Collective. Through his performances, he brings together music, rhythm, and storytelling, and has performed across India at various art festivals, engaging diverse audiences through folk expression.

Sachin Sreenath
Actor
Sachin Sreenath is a Bangalore-based actor and theatre professional who trained at Ninasam and Adishakti Theatre Research labs, actively practicing the craft for twelve years. He is also under formal training in Yakshagana, Parai, Kalari, and Carnatic vocal music, and has expanded his theatre practice to television and cinema, predominantly in Kannada and English. His work explores bodies as a medium of storytelling through emotions and surrealistic stage-acting. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Kannada Literature.

Reuben Paul
Music
Reuben Paul, a Madurai-based musician, brings over three decades of experience in theatre music. He has performed across various theatre festivals and is actively involved in archiving and independent music research, contributing to the preservation and study of musical traditions.

Siddharth
Production Manager
Siddharth is a poet, actor, and musician with extensive experience in theatre, having been part of several productions through performance, music, and poetry. He has also worked in stage setup, production management, and assisted direction teams across various productions, shaping him into a versatile theatre practitioner exploring storytelling through multiple forms of expression.
