Event Description

The Crafts Council of Karnataka will host the 33rd edition of Vastrabharana, its annual exhibition and sale of handcrafted textiles and jewellery, from 3rd September. This year’s theme, Illusion and Fantasy, explores imagination and storytelling in textile traditions through colour, pattern, and layered design.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Smt. Meenakshi Krishna Byre Gowda.

Highlights include:

• Hand-embroidered sarees, ikkat weaves, block prints, Kanjivaram and Benarasi silks, eco-prints, Madhubani and Kalamkari, Shibori, and Bandhini.

• Jewellery such as lac bangles by Madad Ali, thread jewellery by Kailash Patwa, silver jewellery by Aham, and sculptural silver by Mrinalini Cariappa (Flames of the Forest).
