Event Description

Smt Jayanthi Sridharan’s journey into the ocean of Carnatic music began with her mother, Smt Prema Raghavachari, who was her first guru. She was fortunate to continue her learning under eminent Sangeetha Kalanidhis like Maharajapuram Santhanam and Smt R. Vedavalli, under whom she received the Government of India scholarship. Her quest for knowledge led her to learn from Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari, whom she accompanied on concert tours across India and abroad. She continued her musical journey under the guidance of violin maestro M. Chandrashekharan until recently. Smt Jayanthi has recently completed her Master’s in Divyaprabandam from Madras University and is currently pursuing a doctorate on the concept of “Doodu” (sending messengers to the Lord) as depicted by Alwars and Acharyas. She has dedicated her music career to Srivaishnavism over the past few years.
