Event Description

Get ready to unleash the fury of metal! The electrifying finals of the Wacken Metal Battle Indian Subcontinent - India Finals is set to erupt on the 8th of February, 2024. Featuring the most hardcore bands from India, this battle will be a showdown of epic proportions. We're stoked to witness a storm of talent and see which band will rise to claim their spot at Wacken Open Air 2024. Prepare for a night where metal reigns supreme! Special Guests: Bevar Sea: Five years after releasing their sophomore album ‘Invoke the Bizarre', Bangalore’s Bevar Sea used the Covid-imposed lockdown as an opportunity to regroup and work on the third album titled ‘The Timeless Zone.’ With the backdrop of the lyrics portraying a tryst with the consciousness of man, storying into travels and visions within the self, the music throughout the album pays homage to the glory years of the 70s and 80s hard rock and metal with the typical rifftastic stoner/doom sound the band has embraced on the two albums before this. Fans can expect a proper Bevar Sea set at the “Wacken Metal Battle - Indian Subcontinent: India finals” with songs both new and old. It'll rock and it'll doom a little.

Formidable Hate Machine: Formidable Hate Machine are a two-piece industrial metal act from India. Highly inspired by legendary acts such as Godflesh, Ministry, Pitchshifter, and Skin Chamber. India has seen it all but what was missing is an industrial metal act on the footprints of Godflesh. The project came into existence when Telal Xul and Rohit Raghupatty (Antakrit) decided to take matters into their own hands due to the inactivity of the band and musicians' linear approach. And rather than approaching anyone else, the duo thought of making music that comes from minimal ideas without too many conflicts. The idea was to create something fresh and completely different from what they were doing in Antakrit. The inspirations came from different angles and music genres, starting from television, current affairs to social media, new wave 80's pop, industrial metal to doom metal, ambient music, and avant-garde metal.
