About the Saree Connoisseur:

Swarathmika is a dancer who has been training for over 20 years and continues to perform and evolve under the guidance of Smt. Chitra Chandrasekhar Dasarathy.

Swarathmika fell in love with sarees at a young age, and her love for the various weaving traditions has been shaped by the women around her who live their lives in them. Her fascination and curiosity for the “everyday beautiful” – our clothes and the spaces we live in often take her down some wonderful rabbit holes, and this presentation is a culmination of one such adventure.

She comes to every stage - as performer, choreographer, writer, and witness with the same intent: to remain a student of what art and life continue to offer.

About the Storyteller:

Aparna Jaishankar is a Storyteller, Educator and Corporate Trainer.

Aparna’s passion lies in exploring Indic Mythology with a contemporary lens. She enjoys the various versions of these stories found in the nooks and crannies of the Indian subcontinent in the form of songs, theatre, dance, weaving, rituals and practices. She incorporates these rich sources in her Storytelling performances.
