Event Description

Chhau is a graceful and athletic movement form blending martial arts and traditional folk dancing, including the use of masks and acrobatics. Inspired from nature and animals, Chhau employs beautiful spirals, gaits, thrusts and jumps. Guru Sapan Acharya is a 5th generation practitioner from the illustrious Serikella Chhau Dance family. During this intensive, he will introduce the foundations of the movement form to students. This is open to beginners and intermediate practitioners.
