Event Description

The eighth edition of the Whitefield Art Collective (WAC) will take place from March 27 to April 28, 2025, at VR Bengaluru, Whitefield Main Road. The festival, supported by the Yuj Foundation, will focus on the theme "Future is Now " and feature over 100 installations, exhibitions, and global collaborations.

Key Highlights:

  • Art Installations & Global Collaborations: Over 100 installations, sculptures, and photographs will be showcased, with contributions from the British Council, UNESCO, the United Nations Civil Society Conference, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore University, and the Bangalore School of Design. The festival also features partnerships with the Chennai Photo Biennale and the Iconic Women Project.

  • Exclusive Art Exhibitions: The festival will display Gita Hudson's Sunflower Series, Korean artist Soonyoung Yang's Through the Window, and a photography exhibit Mapping Bengaluru by MOD Foundation, exploring the city's origins through archival materials. Bengaluru in Focus will present a curated selection of 60+ photographs capturing the city's essence.

  • UNESCO Exhibits on Science & Climate Awareness: Exhibitions include The Universe of Indian Women in Science and a climate awareness initiative in partnership with UNESCO.

  • ‘Hey!’ by Chennai Photo Biennale: An exhibition featuring works by differently-abled and neurodivergent artists through photography and mixed media.

  • Young Artists Program & Artist Mentorship Initiative: Emerging artists will participate in a mentorship program launched in 2023.

  • Interactive Events: The festival will include the Basement Art Project showcasing student works, puppet shows, interactive workshops, and literary gatherings organized by the Whitefield Literary Society.

  • Lifestyle Experiences: Special collaborations with Franck Provost on hairstyling and Blue Tokai Coffee on coffee brewing will integrate art with everyday experiences.
