“Wayanad, a land of lush forests, rolling hills, flowing rivers, sprawling paddy fields, diverse wildlife, vibrant birds, and rich biodiversity, exudes a serene beauty that captivates the soul. Yet, recent natural calamities have left their mark, creating cracks in the very essence of this land shaped through the tireless efforts of indigenous people and settler farmers over generations.
Now, as we rise from the ashes, we find that art serves as a powerful medium to reflect our worries, anxieties, grief, and dreams.
Through art, we, the 16 artists of Wayanad Art Cloud, are rebuilding our hearts, with artists sensing the pulse of life and expressing it through various forms. Each artwork becomes a whisper of cherished memories or a visual symphony that resonates with the spirit of inner selves. We invite you to immerse yourself in this experience, breaking barriers and witnessing the evolving landscape of Wayanad.
Wild Whispers 2.0 is the continuity of `Wild Whispers` an exhibition of art and sculptures that was held in the Lalithakala Akademy Art gallery Mananthavady, Wayanadu. In 2023-24 Wayanad Art Cloud in association with Uravu Eco Links organized the exhibition `Dreams Beyond the Forest` at the same gallery and in Uravu Bamboo Grove resort Thrikkaipetta.”

`A conversation on Wild Whispers 2.0`
As part of the Wild Whispers 2.0 exhibition—a group showcase of artists from Wayanad—a special inaugural conversation will be held with renowned visual artist and curator C F John on June 13th, 7 PM.
In this inaugural session, C F John will reflect on the curatorial vision behind Wild Whispers, exploring how the exhibition creates space for collective expression, ecological memory, and community-driven creativity. The talk will delve into the process of shaping a dialogue between local sensibilities and contemporary art practices, and how the whispers of a place like Wayanad can find resonance in urban cultural spaces.
This conversation invites audiences to engage with the stories, symbols, and sensitivities that inform the artworks—offering insight into how art can become a vessel for shared belonging, resilience, and transformation.
About Wayanad Art Cloud (WAC)
Wayanad Art Cloud (WAC) is an independent art space - a gallery, a forum, a research lab, a contact zone - where artists, designers and communities work together and find new ways and possibilities to engage in public discourse.
Currently WAC consists of 23 artists (16 are participating here). Artists included in this exhibition are from Wayanad, belong to Adivasi communities or are women.
WAC is collaborating with Uravu Eco Links, a company based in Wayanad, which is involved in social entrepreneurship and sustainability, namely eco-friendly community tourism, bamboo trading, bamboo construction and consultancies.
WAC is run by an international cooperative of creative people from India and Switzerland, with the aim to build upon collaboration, exchange, participation, and sharing. WAC is an emblem for the move to work together despite different cultural, economic or artistic backgrounds.
