Event Description

World Jazz Festival Launched in 2020 with an aim of contributing to and enriching the Jazz Scene in India, the festival is held in collaboration with one of the largest and highly reputed Jazz Festivals in the world - the Amersfoort Jazz Festival from The Netherlands. Back for its 4th Edition this year, the festival will travel to 4 cities in India – with consecutive concerts in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune – all in one packed week from the 18th to 21st April 2024. Featuring musicians from The Netherlands, USA, China, South Africa, the acts this year would be presenting compositions which are representative of Eastern, Dutch and South African Jazz Traditions, with a sincere emphasis on paying tribute to some Jazz legends of renown – the likes of the legendary South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim, American pianist and hard-pop sensation Horace Silver, and the evergreen saxophonist John Coltrane. In addition to this, Jazz Standards from the Great American Songbook would also be presented, transporting you to bustling Jazz Clubs in 1950s New York. All in all, Banyan Tree’s World Jazz Festival is a true celebration of Jazz, the highly compelling genre of music that has caught the imaginative fancy of many a musician and connoisseur across the world.
