’Xakti: BGirls For Life’’ is a 40-minute experience that invites youth and adult audiences to celebrate Hip Hop culture. The show features DJ Ritz, Joon our Emcee and three B-Girls who have represented India on several occasions. The host leads us with some fundamental knowledge into 3 solo dance battles between the BGirls, making the form accessible to first-time viewers while preserving the authenticity, energy, and spirit of a Hip Hop jam.

Hip hop initially emerged as a powerful tool for expression, resilience, and collective identity among African American, Latino, and Afro-Caribbean teenagers. It continues to braid geographies and socio-cultural contexts, functioning as a medium to create, flow and express. A way of life, with no particular destination.
