Bhushan Oberoi Likes Food With Soul And Thought

Bhushan Oberoi legendary restaurateur and founder of Casa Piccola is a true blue Bangalorean. Anyone who would walk miles for a taste of Koshy’s has got to be. In conversation with Explocity.

Are you a foodie?

Yes I am but who is not I wonder...

What’s your favourite cuisine?

I prefer European food but ready to try any food which has "soul & thought " in it. The gros-oozy & monstrous quantities of food is not for me.

What’s the last place that you went to in Bangalore that you really enjoyed? What did you eat there that stood out?

Prem Koshy's at St. Marks Road. The Fish Moly has not changed over 25 years. I would walk miles to eat it once in a while.

What’s your favourite dish of all time and where did you eat it?

Very difficult question...but right now it is "Strangolapreti". These are Ricotta & Spinach nochis. It seems some priest ate so many that he choked on them in Italy. Hence the name. Our friend Ingrid on Lake Garda should win a nobel for this.

What is your least favourite dish?

Mashed bananas. Or any banana.

If you have to recommend a place to our readers what will it be?

The Red Fork in Indiranagar. Pity Xerxes, the owner, is going away - the Australians have lured him away.
