There is a crab food festival at Karavalli called Crabalicious March, said to last all of March at The Gateway Hotel.
The restaurant focuses on coastal flavours. Crab cooked in Kundapur masala is common on the menu. There is also a Yedi Gassi which is the Kundapur home style version of crab curry. There is also the Goan Crab Xec Xec served with Sannas and Crab Triton Ailo served with Goan Pav. The Karavalli Crab Curry is the restaurant’s special that is made in a spicy gravy and served with the Malabar Paratha.
