This week’s focus is not on chefs but on mixologist Jamie Walker. Conducting a Mixology Masterclass at FAVA on 8 July, 2017, Jamie Walker talks to Explocity.
Call it responsible drinking or an occupational hazard, but Jamie likes to play sport to keep him from drinking too much.
I grew up in Scotland and have since spent time across the UK and spent six years in Australia.
I try and drink responsibly, with work and events it’s important to maintain a healthy balance and I feel having hobbies and playing sport keeps me from getting entrenched in the drinking lifestyle of a Brand Ambassador. And no, I don't drink too little.
I have been making drinks since I was 18 so a little over 15 years.
So many to choose from, but at the moment I am using a lot of thyme and apple. Also playing around with different masalas in certain drinks. They work so well in Bloody Mary’s.
Be polite and humble. Remember the guests are there to have a good time and not to watch you show off.
I love a Tom Collins, the simplicity is the key.
I am not a fan of anything with cream in it.
I have been in Bangalore for just under two years. But I still get lost on a weekly basis.
I am having a great time. I am lucky I get to see some much of India while travelling for work, so every day is an adventure.
