The Gateway Hotel celebrates Ugadi, the New Year of the Kannadigas and Telugus. Karavalli at the Gateway Hotel on Residency Road has a festive lunch on 29 March for the occasion.
The meal is eaten on a banana leaf and is called “balle yelle oota”, and will be thus served at Karavalli. The meal starts with the symbolic jaggery and neem mixture. While life is sweet it is also bitter and we take in both aspects.
The meal is designed by Executive Chef Naren Thimmaiah. Some of the dishes are Kaalu Usli made with a Mangalorean masala, Southekai Pachadi, Ananas Saasive, Dal Thovve, Kadlebele Payasa, Kadubu and more.
The balle yelle oota is priced at Rs 1500 inclusive of all taxes.
