We were surprised that there is hardly any information available on the sweet dish Gulpavate. Surprised because it is a common Kannadiga dish made in most houses. So what is this? It is made with wheat that is made into a coarse powder. Jaggery is then made into a liquid form and this is mixed with the wheat. This mixture is then rolled into balls and served. You can also blend in coconut shavings with this.
We couldn’t get any verified information on the history of this dish. But any Bangalorean worth his salt has eaten a Gulpavate at some point.
