Event Description
The film is an intimate look at Habib Tanvir and his merry band of Naya Theatre actors, as they tour with their classic play Charandas Chor; get attacked by the Hindu Right; and create a new play on the Bhopal gas tragedy. Shot over two years, this fim provides a vital insight into the life and times of one of the legendary figures of Indian theatre. The film also celebrates his collaborators – his wife Monika, herself a theatreperson, his daughter Nageen, singer par excellance, and iconic Naya Theatre actors like Bhulwa Ram, Govind Ram, Ramcharan, Uday Ram, Chait Ram, Poonam Tiwari, and others.
