Neural Natak is a speculative fiction performance by Mumbai-based artist Spryk that imagines neural networks as practitioners of technomagic—an ancient-future craft where technology and illusion merge. The performance fuses cutting-edge Gen-AI visuals & electronic music, inspired by Indian street magic & ritual theatre, into a mixed-media performance, exploring how archival intelligence remembers these rarely documented yet rich subcultures from India’s past. The soundtrack for Neural Natak features electronic music production informed by more traditional musical structures, creating a grand soundstage. The score is interwoven with folk percussion-inspired layered rhythms accentuated with razor-sharp textures.
This event is part of Art is Life: Elsewhere hosted in collaboration with Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, as an offshoot series of programs as part of our annual festival Art is Life.
