About Tathagata Chowdhury

Tathagata Chowdhury is an internationally acclaimed thespian and theatre and film educator with over 25 years of experience. He is an IBDP film examiner, certified by the Royal Shakespeare Company, has directed over 200 plays.

He has conducted workshops at National School of Drama, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India. The Theatre Royal Plymouth and The British Council commissioned him to conduct workshops on original script writing involving Science and Theatre. Tathagata has also been a teacher of Film Studies with leading IB schools.

His films have been screened at various international film festivals. Original plays scripted by him were performed at South Asian Theatre Festival in Ohio, U.S.A. He has earned a diploma in film making from National Institute of Film and Fine Arts.

Winnie of Kalakranti Best Actor and Best Playwright awards, he has written, directed and performed in the long-running play ‘The Mumbai Zoo’ for over 25 shows.
