34-year-old Manjari lives with her elderly father. When she stumbles upon an old photo album, she is pulled into memories of her parents: everything they sacrificed, everything they struggled against, just to bring a smile to their children’s faces. The children grow up and grow distant, forgetting their mother’s dedication and their father’s silent hardships. Where are her brothers? And when her father quietly disappears into himself again, what will she do?
Swati Vyas takes to the stage as Manjari. With a meticulous lighting and sound that brings the pages of a static photo album to life, this play is a powerful, heart-wrenching showcase of familial bonds, aging, and urban isolation.
