Event Description

Brazil India Connection

Acclaimed Brazilian composer, pianist and accordionist Gabriel Levy joins Akshara, formed by experienced musicians and leading figures in Brazil's world percussion scene, Fabio Bergamini and Marcus Simon, in a vibrant musical encounter celebrating Brazil's rich cultural diversity and its connections with musical traditions from around the world.

Blending Afro-Brazilian rhythms, like forró, samba, choro, maracatu, with musical inspirations from India, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, the trio creates an original and expressive sound that bridges ancestral traditions and contemporary music.

Their repertoire features original compositions from Terra e Lua (Gabriel Levy) and 7 Portais (Fabio Bergamini), alongside Marcus Simon's recent releases. The trio's distinctive sound combines accordion, handpan and a wide range of melodic and Brazilian percussion instruments.

Gabriel Levy & Akshara offer an immersive musical journey connecting Brazil, India and the world through rhythm, melody and improvisation.

For this performance they will be joined by special guests Kirtana Krishna on voice and Aman Mahajan on keyboard.
