Event Description

The artiste traverses through an exploratory journey covering compelling social themes rendering compositions of renowned poets & composers from yesteryears such as Basavanna, Akka-Mahadevi, Sant Kabir-Das, Annamacharya, Dasa-Saints, Tyagaraja, Subramania Bharatiyar et.al.

In this journey, the attempt is to leave the audience with key experiences surrounding social issues such as caste & untouchability, idol worship, patriotism, sacrificial practices etc., while masterfully interspersing Bhakti (devotion) to unify and spread the message of solidarity.

Sharanya Sriram
Vocals

Sharanya Sriram represents the noveau and emerging generation of classical vocalists and performers, steeped in tradition with an increasing repertoire of compositions, and a voice
that is a blend of resonance, range and a unique timbre that has won the hearts of both
eminent personalities in the fraternity and rasikas alike.

She is a regular face at the world renowned annual December Music Festival, Chennai and has performed at several leading venues in Chennai such as The Madras Music Academy, Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha, Karthik Fine Arts, Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha and Chennayil Tiruvaiyaru, to name a few. She has also performed at several prominent venues in Bangalore, such as The Bangalore International Centre, Infosys Foundation, Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of World Culture and the prestigious annual Rama-Navami festival, to highlight a few. Sharanya has appeared and performed on various regional TV channels such as Amrita TV, Sankara TV, Star Vijay, Peppers TV and Pudhu Yugam.

Having qualified as an Electronics and Communications engineer, she found her true north in classical music which eventually led her to pursue a double Masters’ in Music (MA, MPhil) with high distinction and stellar credentials. She has recently submitted her Doctoral (PhD) thesis in Carnatic Music.
Deepak Hebbar
Flute

Deepak Hebbar is a promising flautist and son of Smt Bharathu and Sri Upendra Hebbar. He had his initial training under Vid Raghavendra Rao and further hones his skills under the guidance of Vid Thrissur Ananthapadmanabhan and Vid Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma. He has also been trained in vocal music by Vid Mdhavi Bhat.

Deepak has vast concert experience, having performed in many musical festials and reputed Sabhas. He has also composed music for classical dance ballets and productions and has been featured in many commercial musical recordings as well.
Sunil Subramanyan
Mridangam

Sunil Subramanyan is the disciple of Vid. Bangalore Arjun Kumar and has been giving concerts in esteemed sabhas all over India for the past 20 years. Sunil is an ‘A’ graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan and a recipient of Nadajyoti Yuva Puraskar, ‘CMANA’ endowment and Ananya Yuva Puraskara.
Arunachala Karthik
Violin

Initiated into music by his mother Smt Chitra Sridharan, Arunachala Karthik received advanced violin training from Sri CN Chandrasekhar, and Padma Bhushan Sangita Kalanidhi Sri MS Gopalakrishnan.  He learnt vocal music from Sri Sitarama Sharma and Smt Mangalam Shankar.

Currently in B-High grade in AIR Bangalore and pursuing music full-time, Arunachala teaches as well as performs. he has won various prizes and awards such as winner of the Music Competition at the all-India level held by the All-India-Radio in 2002, ITC-SRA award for promising artists by Sangeet Research Academy, Mumbai, 4-time Recipient of Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram Scholarship from Govt. of Tamilnadu, Mr. Creative from Carnatica, “Mahadevapura” Kalarathna Award and the MQA Sangeet Sadhana Award. He has performed extensively in India and runs a school in Whitefield which is supported by the Mahadevapura MLA Sri Arvind Limbavali.
