Death is the moment where the question of plural worlds becomes most personal. Every culture has answered it differently. Some say you move to another world, some say you dissolve back into this one and some say you join a world of ancestors running alongside the living. There are lots of different understandings of what the world is, who inhabits it, and what it means to leave it.
Most of us have inherited rituals for death without choosing them. And most of those rituals were designed only for humans. This workshop asks: what if we designed them ourselves for every world, every species, every relationship that ends?
Using a ritual design framework created by Lagori Collective, participants will be invited to sit with death as a transition between worlds and to begin designing the ritual that would mark that crossing on their own terms.
This event is part of Plural Worlds, developed in collaboration with Lagori Collective and presented in conjunction with Beneath the Turning Sky.
