Ruturaj Kolpe, a disciple of Vidushi Dr. Meeta Pandit, will present this morning concert in an intimate baithak setting, accompanied by Shantanu Deshmukh on the tabla and Vighnesh Bhagwat on the harmonium. This is an invitation to step into a time warp, where the echoes of a bygone era and the majesty of Gwalior’s musical heritage come alive.

Ruturaj Kolpe is an emerging, consummate Indian classical vocalist of the Gwalior Gharana, whose virtuosity, and technical prowess have been honed over years of dedicated practice and training under renowned gurus and academicians, namely Vidushi Dr. Meeta Pandit and Dr. Sandhya Kathavate. He is a recipient of the prestigious Pt. Padmakar Kulkarni Yuva Puraskar at the 25th Swarsagar Festival, Ratilal Bhavsar Puraskar from Naadbrahma Pariwar, Rohini Bhate Smruti Yuva Gayak Puraskar from Gaanwardhan, Pune and the Swaramayee Gurukul – Dr. Prabha Atre Foundation Special Award at the hands of Padmavibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre, including the Anubhav Gurukul Scholarship from SPICMACAY.
A Sangeet Alankar from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal Mumbai, Ruturaj is a masters student at the University of Technology Sydney.

Trained under celebrated gurus like Pt. Suresh Samant, Pt. Arvind Kumar Azad, Pt. Shubhankar Banerjee and now, Pt. Yogesh Samsi, Shantanu Deshmukh is a rare blend of the aesthetics of the Punjab, Farukhabad and Benaras gharanas of Tabla. He has accompanied stalwarts such as Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Ustad Shakir Khan, and toured for SPICMACAY, ICCR and internationally in Morocco for the Association du Festival Fes de la Culture Soufie 2022. He has completed his master’s in music from Lalit Kala Kendra, University of Pune and has recently composed background music for the short film Bliss of Letter.
Vighnesh Bhagavat
Harmonium
Vighnesh Bhagavat Yellapur started learning Hindustani Classical Vocal and Harmonium from Vidwan Dattatraya Gaonkar of Yellapur. Presently he is learning from renowned Harmonium maestro, Pandit Vyasamurthi Katti. He completed B.Music at Karnataka Fine arts and Music college Dharwad and he completed M.Music in Hindustani Vocal with Gold Medal at KSGH Music and Fine arts University Mysore. He has performed with well-known musicians and so many Young Artists.. He is known for his sensitive accompaniment and mature understanding of Indian Raga music.
