Government Goes Mobile

The state government has given the nod to a technology savvy approach towards governance. An integrated m-governance (mobile governance) platform is in the process of being launched soon.

This means, shortly, several government enabled services can be accessed via a mobile phone. Citizens can access a Right To Information app, Ministry Directory, Electronic Voting Machine tracker, Polling Booth tracker, List of Electoral officers and display boards of various high courts of India.

Members of the government can access several key aspects of governance and action things out quicker than ever. M-governance also gives the government the chance to reach out to large numbers of citizens immediately.

Srivatsa Krishna, the secretary of the department of information technology, biotechnology and science and technology said, "Under the m-governance platform, services one wants from the government can be accessed on the mobile."
