With the state government planning to implement its i4 policy (IT, ITeS, Innovation Incentives - a policy to reposition Bangalore as the world's best go-to city for IT services, products and manpower), the Bangalore IT sector is expecting a boost.

The government will focus on encouraging companies and startups in the ESDM (Electronic System Design and Manufacturing) segment and will be setting up India's first brownfield cluster development project in the city. Brownfield projects are existing projects that have been re-started, renovated or re-infused with strategy and funding. This move will encourage large corporations to invest in companies in Bangalore, rather than looking for solutions elsewhere.
