Over 600 Kids Register For Spelling Bee

December 8 will see more than 500 children between the age of 13 and 15 from over 150 schools in Bangalore, compete to be crowned the city's best speller. The Explocity 1st Annual Spelling Bee is scheduled for Sunday at 9am, at the Jyoti Nivas College Auditorium in Koramangala.

Speaking to Explocity, most of the students participating in the competition expressed their eagerness to participate. Some even were confident of taking home, the coveted trophy and the title. Nitam Kukrety, parent of a participant was ecstatic when he said, "Competitions like these are very important and yet, they rarely happen. They help develop a young person's vocabulary and communication. I am thrilled that my daughter will be a part of the Explocity 1st Annual Spelling Bee."

Most participants exuded confidence when they spoke about the event. Young Hariharan C, another participant said, "I have been preparing very hard for the event. I'm not sure if I will win, but I will definitely make it to one of last rounds."

Speaking about the event and its impact, Bhaskar P, another parent said, "It gives children the opportunity to compete on a cerebral level." Proud of his daughter who is participating in the event, he said that she had been literally living with dictionaries since she enrolled for the competition.

As Bangalore gears up to discover its best speller, December 8 will not be a sleepy Sunday in Koramangala. It will be when the champion of the Explocity 1st Annual Spelling Bee will be crowned.
