Today, March 29, is Earth Hour and Bangalore is geared up to 'celebrate' it by switching off all lights, fans, TV and all electrical equipment. Earth hour will be observed (as the name suggests) for an hour from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. The hour is an event organised annually by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), in which major cities from across the world participate.

While it will be difficult for restaurants and pubs to observe earth hour (read, shut off all lights for an hour), some establishments may opt to light up with candles.
