New Rain Water Drains Will Prevent Flooding

The State government is all set to battle the havoc caused by rains in Bangalore. It has decided to implement the master plan on Raja Kaluve (storm water drains) to cope with this and other related issues.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah, in a written reply said the BBMP has already drawn a comprehensive master plan to remodel the drains in all the eight zones. The government is committed in implementing it in the right earnest,'' he added
Replying to a question from BJP MLC Tara Anuradha, leader of the council and IT-BT minister S R Patil reading out the CM's statement said by implementing the plan, problems of flooding in critical flood-prone areas will decrease, besides improving the water bodies in the BBMP limits and increasing the capacity of drains by creating service corridors.
