The Kannada film industry had protested the dubbing of other language films in Kannada due to the fact that it eats into the potential of Kannada films. Several actors, directors, technicians and pro-Kannada activists and associations are now supporting the protest and have affected a 'bandh' on all cinema related activity in the state.

Led by actor Shivarajkumar a rally is expected to start from SBM Circle till Central College today and will be holding a convention. The actor was hopeful of reaching a solution (a complete stop on other language films dubbed in Kannada) by the end of the protest.
