As if the sad state of the roads, people riding on footpaths and extreme traffic aren't enough, several Bangalorean motorists have been going 'honk-happy' and causing irritation and noise pollution.
If used the right way, honking helps prevent accidents, but some motorists have been using it in residential areas (where there is no need to honk), busy streets (where honking won't end the traffic) and often for no reason.
The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board informed that a no-honking campaign has already been implemented on Mondays. But a parliamentary standing committee is being put in place to suggest drastic steps and punishments to curb the honking menace.
So, the next time, think before you honk. You could end up paying a hefty fine.
