For the upcoming elections, Bangaloreans in select constituencies can verify if the Electronic Voting Machine has registered their vote right or not. If they find something amiss, they can report this to the election officers and challenge the vote that has been registered.
The election commission will be providing the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). Developed by Bharat Electronics (BEL) and Electronics Corporation of India, the devices will be fixed to the voting machines and will generate a receipt with the details of the vote. After being viewed, the slip will be retracted into the machine.
