Fiddlehead ferns
These curly wurlies are a vegetable and used in some amazing recipes. They are actually a young fern. The fiddlehead resembles the curled ornamentation (called a scroll) on the end of a stringed instrument, such as a violin. This nutritious plant is used in India in the Northeast and Kashmir.
