Glocal Junction Brings Back Nostalgia With A Twist

The menu at Glocal Junction describes itself as an amalgamation of global cuisines with a twist of regional flavours, offering some of the iconic dishes in a renewed avatar. Explocity got a sneak peek into this new restaurant bar at Indiranagar.

Sanjay Vazirani, the CEO and founder feels Glocal Junction is all about being local at heart. “The inspiration to cultivate this seed actually came from nothing but from the life that we see around. It’s a new age concept that is all set to provide this city with a captivating drinking and dining space that allows the guests to enjoy the virtue of being local at heart.”

The menu has a mix of old school classics and dishes with a twist. Some dishes we tried were the  Grilled Paneer with Chimichurri sauce, a South American sauce, the Hummus and Babaganoush platter and the Coorgi Murgi Dry. The mains have a chaat pizza, Tawa Pulao, Tuna Salad With Hajmola dressing and an exceptionally good fusion Khow Suey.

The drinks are equally eclectic, especially the presentation. The drinks come in a pouch, a plastic pineapple and skull shaped glasses. But for all the gimmicky antiques, the drinks do deliver in taste and punch.

We found the dessert section of the menu to be the most interesting. The baked Filter Kapi was our fav, complete with caramel foam. The paan leaf wrapped cheesecake and the Beeramisu deserve special mention. The desserts are innovative and fun.

The decor of the place has a polished industrial look. Bangalore seems to be loving restaurants and bars with a quirky feel; now add one more to the list. Will Glocal stand the test of time is yet to be seen.

Glocal Junction is at Ashwani Complex, 12th Main Rd, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru
