Mohammed Abdul Nedal Is On A Quest For The Best Nachos In Town

Mohammed Abdul Nedal loves Mexican food and would like to try all the nachos in town and find the best nachos in Bangalore. He talks to Explocity about his other favourites and where to find them.

Are you a foodie?
Yeah. One of the biggest there is.

What’s your favourite cuisine?
Mexican. It has to be. I don’t know why but I love the nachos, burritos, salsa, the crunchiness, everything. I have this aim to try nachos in all places in Bangalore and decide on the best one.

What’s the last place that you went to in Bangalore that you really enjoyed? What did you eat there that stood out?
Umm, It’s very hard because I haven’t been out recently. But in the recent past I have liked Nasi and Mee. I don’t like Asian food much but this place impressed me. I had the Massaman curry and the rice. I liked it because of the coconut flavour in the curry that reminds me of back home. Like the curry that my grandma makes in Mangalore. The fried ice cream is amazing too.
I grew up in Dubai so the only grouse I have is Bangalore doesn’t have good Arabic food.

What’s your favourite dish of all time and where did you eat it?
Again, Mexican. It’s something my mom makes. She takes a tray, puts nachos, cheese, salsa, shredded chicken, macaroni and cheese and then bakes it. Has to be my favourite. It’s something unique.

What is your least favourite dish?
Hmm don’t think I have. I guess because I stick to things I like, like Mexican and Arabic food. Don’t venture too far out of my comfort zone. But I get tired of eating the same dish sometimes. Like fast food. I’m sick of KFC.
Maybe also something with cauliflower. I don’t like it much. I had a really bad Chinese cauliflower preparation once that set me off. I got sick and since then I associate cauliflower with that.

If you have to recommend a place to our readers what will it be?
I would say Nasi and Mee definitely. I like the Toit nachos even though it’s more like baked pita chips.
For me it’s more about the dishes than the overall vibe. Like the taco beef at Pecos. If someone has a particular craving and asks me where to get a good chopsuey or tacos or nachos then I can recommend places but if someone just wants to know where to eat, it’s hard for me to recommend.
