I am not a Bangalorean by birth but I became a true Bangalorean primarily because of the food. I just love the food in Bangalore and I have eaten at many restaurants… right from Eat Street V.V Puram to many other restaurants from all parts of the city.
I’m from East Bangalore currently living closer to South Bangalore and I work in Whitefield. Most of the restaurants I visit are in these areas. So far my journey has been great and delicious.
Restaurants I recently visited.
The Yellow Chilli, Jayanagar
Located just beside Kalanjali Show Room in Jayanagar. For those who are not aware this is a Sanjeev Kapoor Franchise restaurant. I was happy and excited to taste the menu there. Among the mocktails, Peru Pyala is a must try for all tang lovers. The starters are awesome. The paneer was very soft, blended with spices and cooked to perfection. They offer variety of Rotis and Parathas. Their signature dish Palak Pindi Chole was simply delicious with a mouth full of flavours. They also have buffet option on all days. Please note that the dishes marked with ‘S’ are Sanjeev Kapoor’s Signature Dishes and are a must try.
Amrutham Flavours of the South, C.V. Raman Nagar
They offer a wide range of vegetarian South Indian food. Ambience is simple and elegant. One can sit indoors or outdoors with some fresh air. They offer loads of varieties of Idli, Dosa and Vadas. They offer a Limited Meal and Maharaja Meal options which are sumptuous. The meal consists of varieties of vadas, dosas, idlis and rice with many side dishes based on the menu fixed for the day. Truly a feast for all South Indian vegetarian cuisine lovers.
The Great Indian Thali, Koramangala
Located adjacent to the Sony Center, the specialty of this restaurant is that they serve a whole lot of side dishes compared to other restaurants. The meal starts off with a welcome drink of the day and from there on starts the serving of variety of Curries, Dals and Kadis on your plate. The service is wonderful. You cannot stop yourself from the desserts served at the end.
Bakasur, Whitefield
Bakasur is Ascendas Park Square Mall, ITPL Whitefield. Visited this place on weekdays and decided to try out the buffet spread. I was surprised to see the varieties of chaats they offered. And yes Pani Puri lovers out there, you will not be disappointed with what they have here. The starters consists of many Chinese and Tandoor varieties. I could not stop myself from eating loads of Tandoori Bhindi. Many options for salads, ice creams and desserts. The main course consists of Roti and Rice as usual with rich curries as accompaniments. This is a must try for ‘Big Buffet’ Lovers.
