Regional Food Goes Big This Weekend

India and its many cuisines are indeed diverse. Going local and regional are the biggest trends of this season. Celebrating local cuisines are the way to go when it comes to exploring new foods. Bangalore restaurants are paying homage to this idea this weekend. Some new and some old cuisines. Here is our pick.

Indian Kitchen- Indian Kitchen on MG Road is a great place for North Indian food in general but this week the restaurant is celebrating Marwari and Gujarati food festival to showcase a North Western cuisine. Chefs have been flown in from Gujarat and Rajasthan for this festival and they are going to keep Bangalore busy with their fare. Try the Gujarati Kadhi or the Makai ke phool ki kachori (kachori made from the flowers of corn).

BonSouth- No one can pick a favourite among Indian cuisines, but Andhra food is for sure among the top few for everyone. Bonsouth is hosting the Spicy Andhra Food festival. Dosakkai Vaadiyallu for starters, Hyderabadi Kacchi Gosht Biryani and Ghongura Mutton for mains. and special Hyderabadi Pirni for dessert. How can you resist?

South Indies- This restaurant in Indiranagar has a menu with delicacies from all four states. Now their chefs have carefully designed the menu at the Big fat SouthIndies Feast. Specialities like Pazham Pori from Kerala and Mirapakaya Bajji from Andhra feature as the starters. Curries from all states are served for the main course. We loved the Appam, Podi Dosa Paratha and Vishalakshi Roti all the specialty breads for South India.
