Arepa

An Arepa is a breakfast item from Colombia, Venezuela or Panama. These are equated to the Mexican tortilla but are much thicker. It is made with maize flour that is either grilled, steamed, baked or fried to make a round, unleavened patty. These patties are then either filled or topped. Meat, fish, cheese, eggs, cream or fruit are some of the toppings or fillings.

These are homemade or even a popular street food. The variations depend on the region you are eating them in.
