Would you drive all the way to the airport for a meal? We recommend you do, now that the new Taj Bangalore has opened its doors.

The airport food experience no longer means you must settle for boring lounge coffee, Taj Bangalore, located in the Bangalore airport area, has opened a bunch of restaurants that offer dining to the standards of the Taj.

Explocity asked Executive Chef, Alok Anand to describe his menus. We asked him if the hotel will cater mostly to passengers in transit or also to us city slicks?

He said, “We have food-on-the-go suit those on a tight schedules. The 24-hour all-day dining, Café 77 East, offers guests cuisines from across the world, right from global comfort food to a taste of the Southern regional flavours. It also has live cooking stations offering small and large plate options.”

Chef Anand also spoke about the other restaurants: Tamarind, a restaurant offering authentic North Indian dishes from the royal kitchens of Punjab, Rajasthan & Awadh showcases an eclectic mix of dishes including Rajasthani Laal Maas, Punjabi Rara Gosht or Awadhi Lagan ka Murgh.

For Eastern flavour, the hotel offers an Asian restaurant - Soi & Sake, Chinese and Japanese cuisine - with a live Teppan grill and Sushi bar.

“The lobby lounge in the central lobby area,” Chef Anand told Expocity, “creates a space for guests to work and connect over a wide selection of teas, single malts or a cocktail of their choice.”

Cafe 77 East: The all day diner has food and entertainment for the transit diner and regular diners. Brunches, wood fired pizza ovens, a live rotisserie, grills, island buffets, handmade pasta station, and live music to go along with it all. This restaurant also offers al fresco seating to diners.

Tamarind: Indian chefs serve up Punjabi, Rajasthani, and Awadhi cuisine to guests. Slow grilled tandoori kebabs can be paired with wines from the vast wine selection that is adjoining the restaurant.

Soi and Sake: Japanese or Chinese, Teppanyaki grill or Sushi bar, Soi and Sake caters to all looking for an Asian meal out. The restaurant also offers views of the landscape and cascading waterbody. The wine room connects Soi and Sake to Tamarind and there are wines to be paired with Asian and Indian food.
